FMCSA to Hold Fifth Hours-of-Service Listening Session at Mid-America Truck Show
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) today announced it will hold a fifth public listening session on hours-of-service requirements on Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky. The Mid-America Truck Show is one of the commercial trucking community's largest annual gatherings, attracting over 80,000 attendees.
In January, the FMCSA held hours-of-service listening session in Arlington, Virginia; Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; Los Angeles, California; and Davenport, Iowa. The goal of the listening sessions is to gather a broad range of comments, ideas and relevant research as the agency prepares for rulemaking on hours-of-service requirements for property-carrying commercial drivers.
