Indiana Petroleum Delivery Company Paid $22,490 in Fines

Witham Sales and Service, Inc., located in Hammond, Indiana, delivers petroleum products to company owned service stations and home heating fuels to private homes in Northwestern Indiana. Witham was fined by FMCSA for transporting hazardous materials without the required cargo tank markings, inspections or providing adequate employee training. Witham paid the $22,490 fine for failing to comply with the requirements and agreed to comply with safety regulations. This is not the first time that Witham has violated safety regulations when transporting hazardous materials.

Midwestern States Staff Conference 2000 the "Gateway to CMV Safety"

The first ever Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration - Midwestern States' Staff Conference was held in the Midwest's very own Gateway City - St. Louis, Missouri. Although only months after the birth of our new administration, this has been a remarkable and exciting time, with passage of the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999, we truly are at the Gateway to CMV Safety! The agenda provided opportunities for field interaction with FMCSA senior leadership, external safety partners and one another in an environment that fostered better understanding of our Vision for CMV Safety in 2010.
