Grant Application and Award Process

 

Initial Review and Submission of Application

All applications must be filed electronically on Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approved grant forms SF-424, SF-424A and SF-424B through http://www.grants.gov. Additional application requirements will be indicated on the grants.gov opportunity announcement. All applications must be filed within the time frame provided. All applications must be complete and provide the required information.

 

Merit Review

The CDLIS Modernization merit review panel consists of FMCSA headquarters personnel familiar with CDLIS and the FMCSA grant program fiscal and performance requirements. The CDLIS modernization merit review panel will document its review and recommendations for funding and submit them to the Associate Administrator for Enforcement and Program Delivery for final approval.

 

Notification of Award

Applicants will be notified in writing from the FMCSA Division Administrator of award amounts, if any. Non-State applicants will be contacted directly by the CDL Division Office at FMCSA Headquarters

 
Begin Project Activities
Immediately upon final execution of a grant agreement, grantees should begin project activities according to the approved project plan. This work should remain on schedule unless deviations are approved by the FMCSA Division Office or CDL Division at FMCSA Headquarters.
 
Note : The CDLIS Modernization Grant Program is discretionary and competitive in nature. The decision of the agency is final and there is no appeal process.
